Micromax's new smartphone sub brand YU was unveiled at thursday with the launch of the new YU Yureka smart phone.
The smartphone is priced pretty competitively at Rs. 8,999/- and is aimed at a tech savvy customers.
To buy this smartphone you to subscribe at Amazon to register for the sale on 13th January 2015 at 2.00 PM.
Micromax is also giving a free Genuine Leather Cover if you subscribe before 25th of December and buy the smartphone on 13th January 2015.
Being priced so low this will definitely hurt sales of Xiaomi, Huawei, Panasonic, ASUS.
The smartphone comes with Cyanogen OS 11 and being the only company to have exclusive rights of the cyanogen OS in India YU Yureka is sure to achieve success in the Indian market.
The smartphone slogan "YU PLAY GOD" perfectly fits to the Cyanogen OS in form where you can customise the whole phone form fonts to booting animations and every thing in between.
The "Everything in between" means you can even edit and customise permissions for each app which means you solely control your phone for what resources an application can use in background.
Starting with the front appearance of the handset, it consists of a 5.5-inch 720p screen with 267ppi pixels density and also comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 with Oleophobic coating for preventing smudges and finger print on the screen.
YU Yureka comes with Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 64-bit processor clocked at 1.5 GHz octa core with integrated Adreno 405 GPU @ 550 MHz. There is also 2 GB DDR3 RAM combined with such powerful CPU.

Going to the back of smartphone is a rubberized plastic finish of the back panel some what looking similar to the OnePlus One's back panel.
The Yureka smartphone features a 13MP Rear Camera with Sony Exmor RS sensor and a 5MP front camera for clicking selfies and making video calls.
The camera Software also comes with Slo-mo feature to record Slow motion videos @ 60fps and will be boosted to 120fps in the later updates.
Apart from Bluetooth, Wi-Fi and 3G connectivity the phone also comes with a 4G connectivity and supports the Indian 4G bands.
Considering the price the phone lives really up to hype by giving such great features.
Micromax also announced the "Apps for YU" challenge inviting Indian developers to create apps for its upcoming YU brand of smartphones running a Cyanogen OS build
